¿Qué es el presente continuo? // What is the Present Continuous?

Usamos el presente continuo para hablar de acciones que están ocurriendo en este momento o durante un periodo de tiempo actual.
We use the present continuous to talk about actions that are happening right now or around the current time.

🧠 Estructura gramatical // Grammar Structure:

✅ [Sujeto + verbo to be + verbo principal con -ing]
✅ [Subject + to be + main verb + -ing]

❌ Forma negativa // Negative form:

Sujeto + to be + NOT + verbo -ing
Subject + to be + NOT + verb -ing

• I’m not watching TV. → No estoy viendo televisión.

• He isn’t working. → Él no está trabajando.

• They aren’t playing. → Ellos no están jugando.

❓ Forma interrogativa // Question form:

To be + sujeto + verbo -ing?
To be + subject + verb -ing?

• Are you reading? → ¿Estás leyendo?

• Is she cooking? → ¿Ella está cocinando?

• What are you doing? → ¿Qué estás haciendo?

⏱ Expresiones de tiempo comunes // Common Time Expressions:

• now → ahora

• right now → justo ahora

• at the moment → en este momento

• today → hoy

• this week → esta semana

✍️ Ejemplos // Examples:

🔹 Afirmativo / Affirmative:

• I am studying now. → Estoy estudiando ahora.

• She is talking on the phone. → Ella está hablando por teléfono.

🔹 Negativo / Negative:

• He is not playing soccer. → Él no está jugando fútbol.

• We are not watching a movie. → No estamos viendo una película.

🔹 Interrogativo / Questions:

• Are you doing your homework? → ¿Estás haciendo tu tarea?

• What is she doing? → ¿Qué está haciendo ella?
